Business case #2

Background: a public establishment representing the French government as a notified body for approving and certifying medical devices before they can be marketed wants to expand the materials side of its teams of medical product and system auditors.

Recruitment challenges: the establishment has to have candidates who are technical specialists in medical devices, engaging their independence and responsibility in the audit phases.

Added value provided by the firm/Skills used: first the firm carried out a benchmarking exercise of private companies specialising in the design of medical devices and systems, in order to list headhunting targets. It faced a double challenge:  attracting experienced profiles from the private sector to a public body; and reassuring candidates when presenting the auditor role by giving examples and personalising the candidate’s interview pathway (site visits, meetings with profiles already recruited, recounting their experience).

Result and profile recruited to the position of Comfort Expert:  we recruited a candidate who was an engineer specialising in the biocompatibility of materials and who had experience in the design and industrialisation of an artificial heart. The candidate was recruited for their expertise and regulatory knowledge of materials authorised for use in the health sector.
